SpecialtiesManuscript development, editing, and proposal preparation for books in the following subject areas: parenting, psychology/motivational, women’s issues, Los Angeles–interest, Judaica, and memoir; also editing and coaching on commercial women’s fiction and general fiction. ProfileBeth Lieberman acquired, edited, and managed more than 500 published books during her tenure in-house. She began her publishing career as an assistant at New American Library (NAL), then joined Warner Books, where she edited fiction by New York Times bestselling author Jayne Ann Krentz, Susan Kyle, Eileen Nauman, and Rosanne Bittner. She subsequently moved to Kensington Publishing, where as senior editor, she worked with a number of commercial women’s fiction writers and developed Kensington’s first quality paperback list. After relocating to Los Angeles, Ms. Lieberman served as executive editor for the newly created NewStar Press, where she published Morris Schectman, Mary Sheldon, Christopher Stone, Brenda Adderly, and Mark McCormack. Since becoming an independent editor in 2000, Ms. Lieberman has worked with many novelists including Amanda Brown (Legally Blonde), Joyce Faulkner (In the Shadows of Suribachi), and Maggie Anton (Rashi’s Daughters), and also on the following nonfiction books: The Adversity Advantage: Seven Steps Towards Everyday Greatness by Erik Weihenmayer and Paul Stoltz (Fireside, 2007); Fatherstyle: Surefire Techniques Every Parent Can Use to Raise Confident and Caring Kids by Kevin O'Shea and James Windell (Stewart, Tabori & Chang, 2006); and The Intelligent Negotiator by Charles Craver (Prima/Crown, 2002). Ms. Lieberman has served as speaker and guest instructor at the NYU Publishing Program, Romance Writers of America Conference, Pacific Northwest Writers Conference, San Diego State University Writers Conference, Palm Springs Writers Conference, and writing contest judge at Romance Writers of America (eight times) and Pacific Northwest Writers Conference. She is a member and former Board Director of the Women’s National Book Association/New York City and Los Angeles Chapters. Ms. Lieberman received her B.A. in English from Barnard College and has studied at the University of Chicago and the University of Judaism.
